Colorado

Got my wish from the previous marathon.  There aren't always pictures of my at the race.  I can't take a selfie (hands are busy, and no place for the camera).  Occasionally someone will take my picture and make it available to me to use.  Today was not such an occasion.

Got the marathon finish, got the next state.  I am a little more than 10% (6/51 11.76% ) done with the goal.

In Colorado

Kansas

The infamous "they" say a story needs a conflict.  It may be selfish for me to state to you the reader that I hope to have no stories.  If the rest of the races are like today, got the marathon finish, no drama equipment or people wise.  Boring.  Here is to more boring days.  Hope to just notch more states on my head board.

Oklahoma

Compared to yesterday much easier course.  Of course what wouldn't be.  The problems I did have, were with some of the race participants.  The vast majority of marathons are very supportive of the wheelchair participants.  Races are one of the most supportive environments I immerse myself.  Sometimes you run into marathoners who are antagonistic to wheel chairs.  There were a couple here that wanted me to do just that, run into them.  They would change their line just at the last minute requiring a substantial adjustment.  Once it was so severe I flipped.  Luckily, I could right myself and get another marathon finish.

In Oklahoma

Texas

I was the last to finish the marathon.  I finished, just last in last place. No flats, no equipment issues, just a brutal course for a wheelchair.  The honest to goodness sand/dust storm was able to get sand by my sunglasses into my eyes, hard to keep eyes open, even harder to roll with eyes closed.

More than once I wondered to what I have committed myself.  I don't quit.  Today was the kind of day that makes we wonder if I'll die trying.

Virginia, Second State

This was a tough one, by my own choosing and actions.  I registered for the King Neptune Challenge, 8K on Saturday morning.  Sunday morning start with the Half Marathon, and if you finish timely, you can start with the Full Marathon an hour and half later.  I get done with he half marathon with just enough time to get stiff so even though you think a half marathon would be a great warm up for the full marathon, it isn't if you get done with the half too quickly and stiffen up during the wait to start.

Got the marathon finish which is the most important part.
